Public Meeting in Berry Hiil bh_meeting1

Berry Hill Rugby Club was packed on 16th April as locals gathered to discuss the possible relocation of the Five Acres site of Gloucestershire College to Cinderford with the loss of all the facilities on the existing site.

Triangle FM was there at the organisers request to record the meeting and to make it available for those who were unable to attend.

Poster Competition

Ruth Ward & Steve Wilson

Triangle FM worked with some of the local Schools giving pupils taster sessions in radio interviewing and launching our poster competition. The pupils made A4 sized posters on the theme of "The Heart of the Forest" and almost 200 posters were entered.

The Buddies Social Club

The latest group to get on board the Triangle trip  is the Buddies Social Club. This is a weekly club attended by vunerable adults and their carers.Buddies recording
We went along to one of their meetings with some of our equipment to give them an idea how a radio station works.  By the time the evening was over the decision had been made that they would make their own programme of music and dedications. The programme aired during our November 2011 broadcast.

Triangle in 2012

Watch this space for news of Triangle FM's plans for 2012. After a successful ten days on air in 2011 the Triangle FM team is determined to bring more opportunities to Cinderford to have its very own radio station.

Triangle FM will be streaming online all this summer, and will again be broadcasting on FM in the run up to Christmas.  Training courses will be starting soon, so contact us if you'd like to get involved.

All this needs funding of course,  so our backroom crew are busy trying to put that in place.

The FODCast

During our last broadcast we were VERY pleased to be working with The Warranty Group on a new initiative to help secondary school age students to get involved in the media by running a competition to find the best radio programmers in the Forest.fodcast  Called "The FODCAST" the competition tasked the schools and Gloucestershire College Forest campus to make a 30 minute programme to be broadcast on Triangle FM.  Winners will be announced very soon and a gala prize ceremony held at The Warranty Group Offices in Mitcheldean.
